TheAudioPortal.com

This beast has been in development since August 2009 now.

The Audio Portal is my website I've been making. My secret project for all that time, and it's now released to the public.

Basically, it's... you guess it, and Audio portal. The system is bit a different from NG's; users get awarded for helping, not randomly voting whatever on some submissions everyday.

On TAP, users get awarded for writing reviews. They get a penalty for writing abusive reviews, which encourages writing helpful review, which in its turn helps artists improve their work.

The site isn't quite ready yet, but the submitting and reviewing system is up and running.
You can obviously read more on the site itself.

Please note: I'm not trying to keep people away from Newgrounds in any way, but I observed that lots of people were complaining about Newgrounds' audio portal, and they didn't get response from the staff. That's why I decided to have a go at it myself, a site centered around music.

I want to thank all those that have supported me while I was developing it, I wouldn't have made it this far without you. You know who you are people.

IM WINNIN

Yeah loans is winning. Hunting down every submission to get the first review you.
STATWHORE

Watch, in a year tom will just make you (LE GASP) an audio mod after making your system the base of NG audio

Haha, I don't think so. :p

I really applaud you for making this. Once I have some free time, which has been a rarity for me for about 9 months now, I'll try to contribute what I can to the site. It's seriously quite refreshing to see someone be dissatisfied with a system, and simply take matters into their own hands.

Thanks for the compliments! But honestly, I'll repeat myself, I couldn't have done this without the support of some people.

Nice job, very well done :D.

I think colour scheme is a little weird and the submission page could use some visualisation though :P.

Although I really like the fact that you have a comment AND review system. Keep it up, and good luck with it!

I think I should put something in the header of the site: "don't comment on the colour scheme/design, WE KNOW". It's the one thing that's been mentioned numerous times, but you couldn't really know that.

I don't actually think we need visualizations, sure it's a nice thing to have, but it seems more something I'd leave for when I'm bored and everything else I wanted in place is done. The player does need an update, though.

Comments + reviews : that was one of the main points in the different system, but I've yet to write the actual comments system.

Thanks for the compliments; and I'll do my very best to keep it up!

RIP?

lol, yeah. It's been a while. :D In the time since it died, I made instaudio which was rather wildly more widely used (and abused), so I shut that down as well. Lots of things learned, though.
