PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS VERY OUTDATED

Welcome to Mich's guide to Newgrounds Audio!

This is a project I've been working on for a while, in order to create a structured guide to the audio sections of Newgrounds. It's divided in 6 articles.

[1] New to the whole audio thing
A Brief guide to get people who are new to audio started in creating their own pieces.

[2] Getting your music on Newgrounds
An article that tells you all you need to know in order to get your music on the audio portal.

[3] Rule clarifications
A guide that hopefully answers all your questions concerning the rules for submitting audio to Newgrounds.

[4] The Audio Portal itself
An article that explains what you see on the Audio portal page, and how it works.

[5] Exposure and improving
Tips on how to get exposure for your audio work. Explanation of the zerovoting problem. Tips on reviewing, and improving your music.

[6] The Audio Forum
An overview of the important threads in the Audio forum.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

And that's that. I hope the articles can help out people. Thanks go out to loansindi, Sinerider and Knoxius (Thomas) (for proofreading), to all the people who made the threads I linked to, to Newgrounds, for existing, and giving us a place to upload our music, socialize, learn new things, and so forth.

Also, I would like to link to TMM43's 'The NG Audio Portal table of contents' - He did a terrific job indexing a crapload of helpful link. If you need to find anything audio related on Newgrounds, just browse through his library, and you'll find it in no time!

I think that is all. Comments on the overall guide go here, comments on the particular articles go in the comment section of those. Thanks for your time!

"The essential guide to Newgrounds audio ! I'm giving it to my kids for their birthdays!"

Lol, that'd make a great ad.

great guide

Thanks for the support ;)

Now I'll hit it big on newgrounds for sure! Thank you knowledge!

Hehe. Knowledge is power as they say!

I betcha 5 bucks Tom will mooch all over this in his next post.

I seriously doubt that to be honest. It's about the audio part after all. ;)

Thank you so much for this guide.

You're welcome.

Before I start reading it, is it useful for voice actors?

Well, not too much. But you might want to read up on the rules if you want to use background music or something. And those two advertising threads may be helpful too.

yeah meng

Hmm?

Rog is possibly the coolest person alive for doing that.

Rog? Doing what?
Your comment confuses me.

Don't you.. know.. Rog!!?

Nope ;(

A guide, my friend.
